Mister
David Gully is originally from
London
,
England
. He currently lives in
St. Augustine
Florida
. David started playing soccer at 6 years old and played on
his first competitive team at the age of 9.
He played for local club teams until scouted and signed
to play soccer for a number of Semi-Pro teams. Unfortunately
he decided to hang up his competitive playing boots and
concentrate on coaching due to recurring injuries.
Starting
his new career path David passed his English F.A. licenses and
then began working at professional soccer clubs Queens Park
Rangers F.C. and Brentford F.C. where the clubs gave him his
coaching start. He traveled to
Kansas
in the summer of 2002 to work at his first international
soccer camp. On his return he stayed with QPR F.C. and became
heavily involved in all aspects of coaching at the club from
community coaching to
Center
of
Excellence Coaching
while managing the
Development
Center
for the C.O.E.
Another
summer in 2003, here in
Florida
, led to even more coaching in the
U.S.
and fueled the dream of working out here full time to its
greatest level. In January, 2004, he passed his UEFA B license
and worked with Chelsea Football Club on their player
development programs. In March, 2006, he made the move to the
U.S.A and worked for MLS working with their camp program and
training professional players.
He has a long-term relationship with Westside Soccer
Club and is delighted and privileged to be working with this
wonderful club. David currently holds both the UEFA B and USSF
B licenses.
David's coaching philosophy is:
"A
player can only develop in the right environment, with no fear
of making mistakes and having the desire to be the best they
can be."
