Overview of Westside Soccer Club
Westside Soccer Club (WSC) was originally founded in 1997. In 2002, WSC partnered with the city of Jacksonville to open a soccer complex at Ringhaver Park, located on 118th Street about 3 miles north of NAS Jacksonville. WSC has experienced tremendous growth since 1997 with over 1,100 players from the ages of 5 through 19 participating within the club. In 2009, we formed a partnership and alliance with the Oakleaf Futbol Club. We also became the first official affiliated Coerver Coaching Soccer Club in Northeast Florida. We offer three distinct programs for our youth ages 5 -18: a Select Premier Program for our U11-U18 players with a strong level of commitment and skill level, an Academy Program which received FYSA accreditation in 2009 for ages U8-U12 to enable each player to obtain the necessary technical skills necessary for success at the full sided game and a Recreation Program for U5-U18 players. Our programs emphasize enjoyment, skill development and a player centric focus in a supportive, positive and rewarding environment. We strive to teach values that our players will keep for years to come: teamwork, fun, commitment, and sportsmanship.
Westside Soccer Club Structure
Westside Soccer Club is a 501 (c)(3) non-profit, governed by a Board of Directors. We have a fulltime Director of Coaching through our Coerver Coaching partnership. We also have a fulltime club administrator as well as an array of volunteer coaches, managers and workers. Our US Youth Soccer model is based on a “build from within the club” approach with primarily an all volunteer coaching staff. We feel the intangible aspect of this model is that our coaches and staff are in it for our youth’s development and vested with us for the right reasons. It is what makes us different and in our opinion a great factor in our success by keeping a positive perspective towards the game and youth centric focus.
